Although tbdNOW officially launched in January 2020, owner Nancy Walsh has been developing and administering leadership development programs for over a decade and has worked closely with local non-profits, county agencies, and community leaders for close to a decade. Long-term, responsive relationships with the organizations and individuals she serves continue to be the foundation of tbdNOW’s success and vision.
Nancy’s experience with the Montgomery Bar Association (“MBA”) has allowed her to develop skills and knowledge that provide a valuable and unique perspective to her clients. For the past seven years (5 as an MBA employee, 2 as an MBA consultant), Nancy has been responsible for the development, oversight, and presentation of both the MBA’s award-winning Leadership Academy and its award-winning DEI programs.
Through the Leadership Academy, Nancy has provided leadership development services for a diverse group of MBA leaders and emerging leaders, offering workshops and projects focused on communication, engagement, networking, problem-solving, innovation, diversity, wellness, and service. Virtually all past participants have ascended to positions of leadership in the MBA and in the community. Similarly, since Nancy/tbdNOW took over the oversight of the MBA’s diversity program, it has grown to include multiple successful facets (i.e. a fully-online pivot of the MBA’s summer diversity internship program in response to Covid restrictions; a “We Need to Talk” series addressing issues of diversity; participation and presentation at a statewide Diversity Summit; community outreach events; collaboration with the Norristown Chamber of Commerce, etc.); and engagement of diverse MBA members has significantly increased. The MBA continues to retain tbdNOW’s services for these programs and other consulting matters.
TbdNOW also provides a significant number of services to Montgomery County. She develops and administers programs and workshops, such as Montgomery County’s successful Emerging Leaders program, aligned with countywide goals and priorities. Nancy served as Project Manager for the first phase of Montgomery County’s Hurricane Ida Emergency Relief Efforts; creates and conducts County workshops, both singularly and as part of various series, focused on training and supporting offices and individual staff members; provides one-on-one private coaching to county employees; has developed and facilitated multiple leadership retreats; and was invited by Montgomery County’s Director of Commerce to represent the County as a keynote speaker for the Pennsylvania Economic Developers Association Conference in 2021.
Beyond her work with the MBA and Montgomery County, Nancy provides one-on-one and small group coaching to private individuals, conducts youth leadership programs, and consults on various community projects and programs. She is also a Certified Executive Coach.
TbdNOW continues to grow, primarily through referrals and requests for expansion of services from existing clients. A keen understanding of the challenges, identities, and potentials of our clients, as well as an ability to adapt and innovate, allowed the organization to not only survive a launch in the midst of a pandemic, but to discover and embrace new ways to thrive, and to help others do the same. Currently, Nancy is the sole employee of tbdNOW, but collaboration with several partners and advisors allows her to maximize efficiency and productivity. Plans for growth focus on the expansion of services to a select pool of clients rather than a significant expansion of the number of clients we serve, allowing us to continue to increase the depth of those relationships and our ability to provide personalized services.
