How?

Provide talented college students with opportunities to:

  • Be considered for multiple internship opportunities;
  • Meet with and learn from leaders in the organization, profession, and community;
  • Meet and form connections with fellow student interns from other schools;

  • Receive mentorship and instruction from organizational leaders; and
  • Much more!

tbdNOW will:

  • Recruit students
  • Facilitate weekly speakers and workshops
    • General: leadership, professionalism, networking, interviewing, etc.
    • Specific to the organization: key stakeholders, mission, organizational must-knows, occupation-specific advice, etc.)
  • Create a mentorship program
  • Coordinate internship feedback, paperwork, follow-up, etc.
  • Develop connections between interns and organizational staff and leadership
  • Plan and facilitate additional events/field trips/opportunities for interns
  • Support internship hosts (advice, best practices, feedback, etc.)
  • Continue follow-up and connection with interns post-program
  • Optional: Develop a sponsorship component

Why?

"The one-year retention rate for hires with internal internship experience is 71% compared to…just 42% for those who do not…after five years, employees who were once interns have a 44% retention rate, compared to 27% for employees without previous internship experience."
